Jake and I met online in November of 2010, talked for about two weeks and then lost contact. The day after my ex and I broke up, Jake texted me, and we've been together ever since. On Valentines Day in 2011 Jake left for bootcamp for 3 months and our relationship went from texts, phone calls, and skype dates to old fashioned hand writen letters. In the mean time, I moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and Jake got stationed in Jacksonville, NC for school/training. On the 4th of July weekend, we FINALLY got to be together after 7 long months of scattered communications.
Since July we have only been able to be together a hand full of time because of our schedules with the marines and school. Christmas of 2011 Jake and I got engaged...well my dad got sick of waiting, so he pretty much asked Jake if he was going to marry me or not! not very romantice, but its orginal!
On January 13, 2012 Jake deployed for Afghanistan for 7-8 months. Luckily, its almost over and ill have my best friend back home, safe and sound!
On 9/1/12 Jake and I are getting married and moving to southern California to start our new adventure as husband and wife, and getting to know each other and the level that most people know they spouses on BEFORE they get married, but do those couples have hundreds of hand written letters from the love of their life? A lof of people have doubted us, but when all you have are words to get to know each other with, you know a person pretty well and im not worried at all, I get to marry my best friend!
